The Word Search playbook

Choose a round of Word Search and settle into its rules. Find every listed word in a 10×10 grid. Use the example below to understand a decision. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Each board contains eight target words from the included English word list.

Practice with a purpose

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Refer to the controls when needed.

The purpose of your moves

Find every listed word in a 10×10 grid. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

How to proceed

  1. Select the first and last letter of a straight word.
  2. Words can run horizontally, vertically or diagonally, in either direction.
  3. Find all eight targets.
  4. New puzzle shuffles again.

How your actions work

Tap or click endpoints. Use the control method described here for this activity. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

Work through an example

Selecting the endpoints in reverse order also finds the same word. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Take a moment to compare.

Watch out for this

Words cannot turn corners. Check the rule before repeating the action. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
